Penrose St. Francis Hospital

Thank you!

We had to take my son, 35 years old, into the ER last night. He was weak and tired, complaining of headache, stomach pain, shoulder pain, and dehydration from diarrhea, and vomiting. He passed out on us once, and passed out on the doctor while being examined.

The ER staff was wonderful! Caring, respectful, knowledgeable. He was put on liquids to rehydrate, given morphine when tramdol didn't work, and anti-virals when they believed his heart arrhythmia was caused by a virus. In about 45 minutes, he was greatly improved, but they kept him overnight for observation.

This morning, they'd found out that his heart event was caused by being under so much physical stress, and nothing to worry about. And after a CAT scan for blood clots, which was negative, he was sent home. Feeling 150% better!

Thank you to all the staff and folks at our north facility of Penrose St. Francis Hospital!

Marianne, What a traumatic event to hit out of tghe blue.  Glad everything turned out to be ok.  YOur headline mentioning the hospital caught my attention as my daughter is an RN there in the birthing center.

Oh Marianne!  I am glad your son is okay!  That must have been soooo frightening!  My best to you all.

Hi Guy: Too bad she wasn't on my son's floor, I might have gotten to know her. Congratulations on having a daughter that is so accomplished!

Hi Debra: It was really tough for a while. Thank you for your support. I'm so glad it wasn't worse!

Marianne, I saw your comment about "life happened" and then I see this. Oh my goodness, I can't imagine the fear and panic you must have felt. I am so relieved to hear all is well.

And even better today, after talking with you, that is great news!  They are always our babies no matter how old they are.  My mom still says that, and this kind of event makes a mother understand exactly what she means, no matter the age! Wishing continued health for him!

Hey Ruth: Yeah, you just never know what's going to happen! He's recovering quickly, and will be back to work on Monday.

He is better, even more improved today, Cheryl. And Mom is Mom, always. They're never to big or too old to need Mom. I'm glad I could be with him.
